1. Live with your parents
If you’re paying out huge sums each month on student loans, auto loans, minimum payments on credit cards and perhaps a personal loan, your progress is going to be slower. For these reasons, others opt to go back home and live with their parents to address this issue.
You can estimate the amount of money you can save by living at home with your parents and you might be able to move at a faster rate and payout your debts, instead of the money going out to apartment rentals.
2. Budget for Savings
Make it a habit to record your daily or monthly expenses. Once you have an idea of what you spent in a month, you can rule out which expenses are unnecessary and remove it from your expenses. Now that you know your expenses, you can measure the amount of budget needed for monthly expenses and savings. Be sure to set aside an amount for maintenance on car and house repairs.
3. Make Saving Automatic
Nearly all banks offer automatic transfers between your checking and savings accounts. It is easier to set up savings when part of your paycheck is directly deposited into your savings account. You won’t see the money as readily available for spending, and one great advantage of this is your savings account earn interest.
4. Cooking at home
There are no other healthier foods than home-cooked meals. Studies show that eating home-cooked meals regularly tend to make people happier and healthier as they consume less sugar and processed food. Not only that you know what you eat but also a budget-friendly which would be enough for the whole family and friends.
But of course, do not deprive yourself, eat out rarely and with some friends. Once in awhile, enjoy yourself with a little joy of the best foods.
5. Don’t Buy Branded things
Don’t spend your hard-earned money on trivial stuff like branded items. The difference between branded and no branded items is just that the branded carry a brand name which then increases its price whereas non-branded are available on the market at a reasonable and affordable price. Branded things will make you happy but in the long run, your savings and budget are the ones that suffer.
Keep in mind that you can’t save money if you keep on spending huge amounts of money on stuff you don’t need and do not borrow money just to buy trendy gadgets or cars to impress your friends.
But of course, if you can afford this branded stuff without hurting your savings or budget, by all means, buy it.
